Importing into iTunes a recently found cache of nearly 75 CDs collected from 1998-2007 is a perfectly reasonable thing to be doing for an entire afternoon, right?
And p.s., you know Rick Steves is the bomb ass hipster travel god. He tells you how to say “I need to vomit” in Italian.
Foods I cook with most often:
I am never without the following:
olive oil
garlic
crushed red pepper
hot sauce/sriracha
onions
potatoes
bacon
parmesan cheese
eggs
beer & wine
cilantro
jalapenos
beans
pasta
anchovies
lemon juice
vinegar
butter
From this, I create multitudes.

Vegetables are even harder to fit into the equation than meats are. When the hell does an eggplant “expire”? I mean, I know it can get brown and denty, but I find that the brown and denty vegetables are often as tasty as the green, firm ones (ok, at least when it comes to eggplant. It’s very dense!).

I just got a pile of meats from TJ’s.
One 1-pound pork tenderloin.
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs.
One package (1.5 pounds) pork tenderloin chops.
One pound tilapia.
All of which have expiration dates circa: this week, and must be prepared to satisfy two: hungry people who are “trying to eat healthy”.
It’s a wonderful sort of science experiment, cooking.
