overit: Minus the whole can’t-breathe-the-air-thing, the hardest part about moving to L.A. has been finding a fucking doctor. And, well, paying for health insurance in general, of course. Actually, that’s an exaggeration. It’s not the hardest part, but it does suck. No, actually, it IS the hardest part. I have health insurance but the whole “finding a new doctor to stick their fingers...

Theory: Time Doesn't Exist, and Space Isn't... →
dalasverdugo:variation:mikehudack:spytap: This article blew my mind, especially the part where it describes how a single particle spinning in space might not actually be said to be spinning at all.  I felt like CJ right after they flipped the map. Nothing exists. Try to have fun right now. If you get this, you’re probably still really excited about the last season of Lost. I AM SO...

HICCUPS
Oh haiiiii it is 4:30pm and yet I sounded like a drunk person just now talking to my boss thanks to a terrible attack of the hiccups!!!! Hooray for poor diaphragm control! It’s been a problem since birth (I have an inverted diaphragm? I guess?), so that’s how that goes. Thankfully he’s got a high tolerance for hilarity and excuses.

alexbalk: I have lived with this column for a week or so now as we went through the process of revision, so I’m jealous of those of you who will be coming to it for the first time. And for several subsequent times, because it is jam-packed with awesomeness and you are sure to miss some on the initial go-round. Also, there is a video. God bless you, D.R. Adams, and your little wifey too!

Los Angeles Video Editors
atencio: I have a friend who is hiring for a last minute lead editor position on a web series. The schedule is very tight, as you’d be starting tomorrow or Friday and need to have a teaser and a 7 minute rough cut completed by Sunday, however, it pays $1500. Interested parties must have their own final cut pro rig, a reel, and verifiable credits, and can feel free to contact me.

nope, still can't stop thinking about it
I mean, I’ve got guacamole in the freezer, but it’s hard as a rock and definitely won’t thaw out in half an hour, even if I run hot water over it all night (which is kind of white trash and also GROSS, which is why I am currently doing just that). What, because seared ahi tuna tacos with cabbage and chipotle-jalapeno crema sounds good to you WITHOUT avocado?

I actually just got myself worked up into a serious Level of Upsetness because I don’t have avocado to put on our ahi tuna tacos tonight. WE DO HAVE CILANTRO THOUGH so everybody can calm down.

A Small Problem With the Coen Bros. (Or 'Beatrix...
natashavc: Obviously, I love the Coen Bros just like you! But I will say that I don’t find their movies AS emotionally fulfilling as, say, a Scorsese movie or a Tarantino flick. This is probably because no character in a Coen bros picture is ever ‘cool’.  All their stories are portrayals of realistic wormy humans. Which is great! But you know, as some one who was weaned on pulp and big budgets, I...
