Three-martini lunch at Musso & Frank’s with Mom & Dad today. (Okay: so we each got one.) No real reason, just checking it off our list.
For eats: Welsh rarebit (which we are definitely going to make at home - cheesy beer sauce on toast? yes please!), sardines, iceberg wedge salad with bacon and blue cheese dressing, and veal bolognese.
The food was what you’d expect — traditional but unexceptional. The martinis, however, were smoooooooth. I’m sure they had nothing to do with our subsequent meat-shopping-spree at Lindy and Grundy. (Yes, we needed beef stock! And thick-cut bacon! And all the sausages! ALL THE SAUSAGES!!!!)
