GAMADD (Gamers Against Mothers Against Drunk Driving)
MADD is pulling a plublicity stunt and asking the ESRB to change GTA IV “M” for Mature rating to “AO”, Adults Only. They’re citing the fact that players can get virtually drunk (screen gets fuzzy and very wobbly) and then drive. Here’s the link to the full story:

Second, did I mention it’s a game.
Third, as I’m sure they haven’t played, the player has choice. They can choose to drive or to walk home, or EVEN CALL A CAB. In fact, when you do try and drive the main character says things like, “I probably shouldn’t be driving.” or, “Perhaps I should call a cab.” Just like in real life, if you choose to drive drunk, you’ll end up plowing into other cars, buildings, and people and the cops will arrest you…unless you’re 1337 like me and then you still outrun the 5-0 despite your impairment.
MADD needs to refocus their efforts.
