HOLY CRAP YOU GUYS I am so excited. We’ll probably go with the chef’s tasting menu: I’m debating whether to buy a bottle of wine when we get there or just enjoy a cocktail with our meal.

SO EXCITED

(No special occasion…just celebrating life, good food, and our recent successes at work. Also, it makes me LOL when Kevin says stuff like “And WHY didn’t you tell me how much this was going to cost when you made reservations??” I just LAUGH and laugh and laugh and say something about how Andres charges by the molecule!)

“Officers responded to the stampede of students and union workers by extending the metal barricades around the entrance and using nightsticks and Taser guns to force the crowd back. “The officer (in front of me) had a Taser gun with a loaded cartridge and a finger on the trigger,” said Richard Stevenson, a fifth-year political science and African American studies student. “Officers were moving the barriers with their legs, and they moved offensively.” Stevenson said that an officer hit him with a baton and tried to tase him. Other students also said they were tased and hit with batons by police. There were no reported injuries, according to university spokesman Phil Hampton.”

so I got the “No-Knead Bread” cookbook in the mail yesterday (THANK YOU, KCRW Annual Membership, you’re saving me at least 3-4 trips to the bookstore each year!), and first on my list is definitely going to be the Olive Bread. Just so I can make sandwiches that look like this.

If you live in L.A. and have never been to Gardens of Taxco do yourself a favor and head there right away. It’s truly a unique place, from the fixed price 5 course meal to the fact that there are no menus, the waiter instead recites it too you. The only regret you might have from coming here is how full you’ll be after eating so much food.
