Bohemea/SuicideBlonde’s coverage of Downton Abbey Fever makes my heart sing as freely as a yellow labrador retriever’s, set loose to range the Yorkshire countryside.

Rose Leslie cast as Ygritte

itsinthetrees:

This was perhaps the longest-anticipated casting news for season two!

Ygritte is a spearwife of Mance Rayder’s wildlings, the Free Folk who live beyond the Wall in the North.  A witty, liberal and skilled warrior “kissed by fire” (her red hair is perceived as lucky), Ygritte becomes a vital mentor, guide and love interest to Jon Snow.

Rose Leslie is a Scottish actress most noted for her recent turn as Gwen, a housemaid who aspires to be a secretary, in series one of Downton Abbey.

YAYAYAY! We finally have our Ygritte!

Another Downton Abbey/Game of Thrones crossover (cf. Iain Glen) — I’m quite pleased with this casting; Leslie has the right coloring and the right look for Ygritte. She was absolutely darling on Downton; she probably won’t show up until the latter part of GoT’s next season, but, well, you know nothing, Jon Snow. :)

Downton Abbey

SB & I started rewatching Downton Abbey already. I feel as if I can’t go more than a day without it! And I’m pretty sure there’s no romance on television as sweet & moving as Anna & Bates.

I know most of the fandom goes into fits about Mary-Matthew and Sybil-Branson, but this is by far my favorite pairing. Joanne Froggatt as Anna is an incredible actress, and Bates is like the Ned Stark of Downton Abbey (except he still has a head).

I can’t really say too much about Downton Abbey and how much I love it without dissolving into a flood of tears, so here is a picture of The Dowager Countess Violet Crawley being fierce.
(If you have ExpatShield installed on your browser, us Americans can [legally!] watch Season 2 episodes on the ITV website, I recommend it, especially if you like crying forever!)
